Celebration Assembly
Celebration Assemblies are held in school every other Friday afternoon at 3pm in the school hall. Parents, relatives and friends are all invited and are welcome to attend. In the assemblies, we celebrate the achievements of the pupils by making the following awards:
STAR OF THE WEEK FOR EACH CLASS
A child is selected from each class for being the Star of the Week. The pupils’ teachers explain why that pupil is deserving of the Star of the Week and a certificate is awarded. The child’s first name and photo are displayed on the board in the entrance hall for the next week.
ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
At the school, we make a real effort to recognise the achievements of children outside of school because we believe in the encouragement and celebration of other enrichment activities. The children’s achievements are read out and they are presented with their certificates, medals and trophies, etc. Achievements include swimming, marshal arts, cycling, musical achievements, Brownies, art, etc.
END OF TERM PRESENTATION ASSEMBLIES
At the end of each term, a trophy is awarded to three children in each class for Maths, English and Perseverance. The awards are not awarded for being the ‘best achiever’. They are awarded for effort, attitude and for making good progress. The children take the trophies home and keep them for the whole term; returning them for the next awards to be made.
